Staunton, VA - March 9, 2022 - Happy Birthday America is pleased to announce Rhonda Vincent and The Rage will be joining Wilson Fairchild for the annual July 4th celebration in Staunton’s Gypsy Hill Park. This is a free concert made possible by generous sponsors Charlie Obaugh Auto Group and First Bank.
Vincent and her band, The Rage, are the most awarded band in bluegrass history. To date, they have won one Grammy, nineteen IBMA Awards (including the top Entertainer of the Year honor in 2001 and consecutive Female Vocalist of the year wins between 2000 and 2006) and eighty-nine SPBGMA Awards.
Rhonda Vincent is known widely as the “Queen of Bluegrass.” Inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2020, Vincent is a seven-time Grammy nominee, winning the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2017.
Wilson Fairchild is a country music duo made up of Wil and Langdon Reid from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. These two men, referred to as “the Reid boys,” have been writing, performing, and playing music together their whole lives.
This is a free concert (bring your own lawn chair) scheduled for the evening of July 4. This concert is part of a broader celebration of our nation’s independence which will include a July 3rd Vespers Service with music. Activities on the 4th include a 5K event, fireworks, parade, food, and numerous other family-friendly activities. The location for this event is Staunton’s Gypsy Hill Park, located along Churchville Avenue in Staunton, Virginia.
